Fall 2020 – Garuda Health News

Hello Everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed Labor Day Weekend! With autumn upon us and more time being spent inside I will be resuming my weekly newsletters on explaining Chinese Medicine. I will re embark where we left off and try to accomplish a monthly series to explain common complaints we see in the clinic and gain a greater understanding on the history and clinical practice of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.
Despite everything that is happening globally we are still being ambitious and planning for the years to come to expand and grow Garuda Health. In the months to come we will be unveiling our new logo, adopting a new text appointment system, and working to navigate the new insurance system.
As of this year the Centers for Medicare Services has approved acupuncture for lower back pain. The national congress of 2021 will be charged with getting legislation passed that allows acupuncturists to directly bill Medicare, as the current system only allows MDs trained in acupuncture to bill.
Michigan’s new Licensed Acupuncture law will officially go into effect in the first quarter of 2021. This means if you have an insurance plan that covers acupuncture we will now be able to bill major insurers or at least be able to give superbills that are reimbursable. It will hopefully allow so many more people to reap the benefits of acupuncture and no longer be limited by paying out of pocket.
Herbal Medicine will probably never be covered by insurance in the United States, however, with the complexities of compounding and the level of bureaucratic hoops, we are happy that patients will not be inhibited from receiving herbal medicine that is specified for their needs. While acupuncture is safe for everyone, not every herb is suitable for use in every condition, and I’m happy that will still be left to my expertise.
As always, we appreciate all of your referrals and recommending our services to your friends and family. We feel so humbled by the wave of new patients coming our way from your recommendations. It ensures that Garuda Health will continue to succeed and provide services into the future. It gives me great satisfaction to open so many people up to this wonderful medicine and truly change their health in ways no other medical treatment has before. If you have any questions on a condition we may be able to treat or someone in need of help of course feel free to ask or leave a review here!
Lastly, we also want to thank everyone who is continuing to post their feedback of their experiences with Garuda Health on their social media as it ensures we maintain our ever growing internet presence so we may reach as many people as possible. It is the kind, encouraging words of our patients that build our reputation and allow us to help even more people through referrals to family, friends, colleagues – anybody you feel might benefit from our treatment in the ways you have! As we have had to scale back many of our marketing efforts this year, we thank you so much for helping us continue to move forward by leaving these positive reviews to let others who are seeking relief know the kind of personalized, knowledgeable, and effective treatment they can expect from Garuda Health!
I am excited to get started on the new blog series and look forward to giving you all something different to read to help break up all the constant streaming doom and gloom.
In good health,
Jason-
